At this point, I’ve packed (and filmed myself packing) for a lot of cruises. I would consider myself a pretty efficient packer. However, this past cruise we took down the Pacific Coast had me scratching my head.
As you probably know by now if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, we flew from Charlotte to Seattle and boarded the Holland America Oosterdam for a one night cruise to Vancouver. In Vancouver, we switched to the Norwegian Bliss for a six night Pacific Coast cruise to Los Angeles.
It was the end of September, and the temperature in Charlotte was still around 90 to 95 degrees. The temperature in Vancouver (our embarkation port) was 55. It’s hard to even fathom what that feels like when it’s so hot outside. I couldn’t even begin to think about what to pack!
I also had to consider that I was packing for a cruise lasting 9 days in total in only a carry on sized suitcase. Even though I had planned to check the bag, I still wanted to have a smaller suitcase (especially when switching ships in Vancouver).
The Answer… Layers, Layers, Layers!
