From here to there… and back.

About Me

Hello! My name is Jennifer.

Currently, I am a stay-at-home wife residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I spent most of my childhood in East Tennessee and South Carolina. When I was five and my dad announced we were moving to Germany, it was the most exciting and, at the same time, scariest thing I had ever heard. I was young, so I didn’t understand what it would be like living in West Germany during the cold war. But once we had lived there a few years, I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

That’s where the travel bug first bit me.

We traveled to most of the countries in Western Europe (except Italy – we just stopped at the border and looked in), and I wanted to see it all! I was spoiled with weekend trips to castles (Neuschwanstein and Rothenburg ODT were my faves), spring breaks in Mallorca, Spain, and Thanksgiving in London. It was a childhood that few can imagine, and I can’t thank my parents enough for giving me that type of exposure to other worlds and cultures.

Sadly in 1988, we had to move back to the States.

For the next twenty-five (or so) years, I yearned to travel again and to explore the world like when I was young.

I went on with my life and spent my adult years working in the graphic arts/marketing field and chasing the dream of becoming an Interior Designer. In 2010, I did realize that dream when I graduated with an Interior Design degree and immediately started work on a condo remodel in an affluent downtown Charlotte location.

But there was still something missing…

In 2012, we started going on a yearly family vacation in the Spring, and it was exactly what I needed. I love the travel process — the planning, list making, packing — and I want to share that passion with all of you!

I have a bucket list of places I want to travel to. Slowly but surely, I plan on checking those places off the list. Going back to Germany was #1 on that list, and I was finally able to do that in 2016.  It was all I had imagined it was going to be and so much more — totally amazing!

While I may not be your typical full-time travel blogger, I hope you will join me on this journey of seeing where I go on our next big adventure!!
