If you’re looking for a handbag recommendations for what to take when you travel, most people will suggest an anti-theft bag (especially if you are heading to Europe). If I’m honest, I think that these bags shouldn’t be relegated to just travel. Some of these anti-theft bags, I happily use in my day to day life. So today, I’m sharing with you my top five favorite bags — one for every travel need!

Crossbody Bags

This bag has been my all time favorite crossbody travel bag for a while now. I have it in a few colors (I took my olive color bag to Germany in 2016.) and I’m always on the lookout for more. It’s called a mini shoulder bag, but it holds plenty for a day out and about sightseeing. With the slash proof fabric and locking zippers, I can feel confident that I can be out in town, even busy ones, and not have to worry about being pick-pocketed! This bag measures 8.5” x 8.5” x 2” and comes in a ton of colors and patterns!

Backpacks

When we cruised the Mediterranean on the MSC Divina, this was my excursion bag of choice! It held so much while still being comfortable on my back! I did sometimes wear it on my front to keep from knocking things over in shops, but with the locking zippers and slash-proof fabric, I was confident to even wear it on my back. The side slip pocket was a perfect place to stash a water bottle for long excursion days and the front organization pocket has RFID protected card slots for easy access. It also features a pocket to hold a tablet, but I didn’t use that feature on our trip. This bag measures 16.5″ x 12.7″ x 3.7″ and comes in three colors.

This is the only bag that I have and carry, but I haven’t officially used it for travel yet. I still wanted to include it in this list, however, because it is a really amazing bag. It seems like it will hold up better than the Travelon backpack. It’s also feels larger than the Travelon backpack (not sure why) and can hold a 13″ laptop. It also features RFID protection and slash-proof fabric. Bottom line though, I couldn’t pass up the screaming deal I got on this bag in the teal color from Nordstrom Rack. If you are on the hunt for Pacsafe, I would definitely recommend checking their website. This backpack measures 15″ x 10.2″ x 6.3″ and at this time only comes in one color.

Tote Bags

When we went to Italy, I took a bag similar to this that I used as my personal item. It was heavy on the shoulder, but I loved the organization and the anti-theft features. That bag has been discontinued, but my Mom took this bag on that trip and it was very similar to the one I had. The main difference is the fabric, but other than that, this bag is almost identical. It holds a lot while still being able to access everything without having to dig in your bag too much. If you want to see just how much it will hold, check out my “What’s In My Carry On” video! This bag measures 13.5″ x 13.5″ x 5″ and comes in two colors.

Convertible Waist Bags

If you want the option (and convenience) of either having a crossbody bag or a waist pack (to be completely hands free), then this bag is for you. This is the bag that I took on our most recent trip to Europe and it worked like a dream! It was small enough to shove down into my larger carry-on bag while being large enough to hold all my essentials. It also helped that this bag features RFID protected card and passport slots so that I can go without carrying a full size wallet! The bags dimensions are 8″ x 2″ x 7″ and comes in five different colors.

So, those are my top five picks for anti-theft bags. Do you have a favorite from my list? Or one of your own? I’d love to hear about the bags that you love in the comments section below!
